From 13th until 26th August the volunteering camp „Leave your trace“ will be held in Veliki Žitnik and gather 24 young volunteers from eight European countries. The organization of the camp is made possible with the financial help of the Erasmus+ programme for education, training, youth and sport.
24 youngsters aged 17 to 30 from Spain, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Latvia, Czech Republic, Greece and Poland are going to spend two weeks in Outward Bound’s educational center in Veliki Žitnik with the motivation to spend a part of their free time volunteering abroad. This is a short-term volunteering project financed from the Erasmus+ programme whose aim it is to enrich youngsters with an international experience and new skills through nonformal education methods as well as create friendships among peers from across European borders.
The goal of the project is to create additional content and furniture for the educational center with artefacts created with help of the volunteers as well as contribute to the local community by cleaning the environment in Veliki Žitnik and informing youngsters in Gospić about opportunities to take part in youth mobility and volunteering projects abroad. During the project the youngsters will have the opportunity to learn more about each other, their cultures and languages but also Croatia.
